What really concerns industrial contractors before signing a heavy civil works project.
When a client approaches Vassecontracting to evaluate earthmoving or civil works in the mining or energy sector, the questions are usually very specific. It's not about general concepts, but about deadlines, technical capacity, and subcontractor management on site.
This is one of the first questions. The answer depends on the topography, the volume of material to be moved, and the required environmental impact studies. In a recent project in the Neuquén basin, the clearing and leveling stage took six weeks with 12 teams working in parallel. The client needed that estimate to adjust their drilling schedule.
Coordinating multiple companies on the same work front is a critical point. Clients ask about the progress control system, daily communication, and safety protocols. At Vassecontracting, we use a digital platform where each subcontractor reports their progress, and a site supervisor verifies it in the field. This reduces deviations and avoids bottlenecks.
Argentina has regions with extreme weather conditions, from heavy rains in Patagonia to frost in the mountains. Contractors want to know if the work plan includes weather contingencies. Our contracts include clauses for schedule adjustments due to adverse weather conditions, based on historical records of the area.
For heavy civil works, quality standards are demanding. Clients ask about laboratory tests, Proctor compaction tests, and concrete strength certificates. In each project, a digital record of all controls is kept, accessible to the client in real time.
These questions are not an obstacle, but part of the process. Answering them with concrete data and real experience is what allows a project to move forward with confidence. If you are evaluating civil works or earthmoving, these are exactly the conversations worth having before starting.
